Solitaire

Solitaire, also known as Klondike, asks you to move every card to four foundation piles. Each foundation holds one suit in ascending order, beginning with an Ace and ending with a King.

How to Play Solitaire

The tableau has seven columns. They begin with one through seven cards, with only the top card of each column face up. The remaining cards form the stock, while cards turned from it go to the waste pile.

Build tableau sequences downward by alternating colors: a black 6 can go on a red 7, for example. You can move a whole face-up sequence when its highest card fits the destination. Removing a face-up card reveals the facedown card below it, opening another possible move.

Only a King, or a sequence led by a King, can fill an empty tableau column. Move Aces and then matching cards upward to the foundations whenever doing so will not block a useful tableau sequence. Foundation cards can also return to the tableau when you need them to make another move.

Useful Solitaire Tactics

Focus on uncovering facedown tableau cards, especially in longer columns. Before committing to a move, check the visible tableau and waste card for a sequence that reveals another card.

Keep useful middle-rank cards in the tableau when they can help extend a sequence. Clearing a column is valuable because it leaves a space ready for a King.

Game Controls

• Mouse - Drag cards between piles, click facedown tableau cards to reveal them, and double-click eligible cards to send them to a foundation.
• Space - Flip a stock card.
• S - Quickmove a card.
• A - Undo.
• D - Redo.

The game tracks your moves and completion time, so you can compare later runs with previous results.
