Brotato is a top-down roguelike arena shooter about a lone potato surviving waves of hostile aliens after crashing on an alien planet. Your weapons fire automatically, so movement, positioning, and upgrade choices decide how long the run lasts.
How to Play Brotato
Aliens enter the arena from all directions and become more dangerous as the waves continue. Move through open space, avoid getting surrounded, and collect the materials they drop. Survive until the wave timer ends to reach the shop.
Between waves, spend your collected materials on weapons, items, and stat upgrades. Damage and attack speed help clear enemies, while health and armor give you more room for mistakes later in the run. Brotato can carry up to six weapons, so choose equipment that works well together and supports the build you are developing.
Tips for Brotato
- Keep an exit route open. Moving toward clear space is safer than letting enemies pin you against a corner.
- Collect nearby drops when you can do so safely. Losing health for one pickup can leave you weaker for the rest of the wave.
- Balance offense with defense. Faster kills help, but health and armor become more valuable as enemy groups grow.
- Match shop upgrades to your current weapons instead of spreading your build across unrelated stats.
