Meowdoku

Meowdoku is a puzzle game based on spatial deduction. Each board uses irregular, colored regions that twist across the grid, so you must place cats while tracking several constraints at once.

About Meowdoku

Place exactly one cat in each colored region, each row, and each column. Cats also cannot touch horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, so every placement blocks the surrounding eight cells.

The changing region shapes keep the logic from settling into a fixed pattern. A cat that fits one region may remove options from another part of the board through its row, column, and diagonal buffer zone.

How to Play Meowdoku

Start by scanning for a region or row with only one open cell. Place the forced cat, then mark its row, column, and all eight surrounding cells with X-marks. Those blocked cells often expose the next forced placement.

When a region has several possible cells, check whether all of them fall in one row or column. If they do, that row or column is locked to the region, so you can eliminate other cells there. Keep repeating the placement and elimination loop until every region contains one cat.

Random guesses can cost hearts, so check the board before committing to an uncertain move. If you get stuck, audit the X-marks around every placed cat and look again for a region reduced to one safe cell. The hint tool highlights a cell connected to a rule you may have missed rather than simply placing a cat for you.

Sandbox Mode removes the mistake counter, letting you test placements and use pencil marks without that restriction.

Tips for Meowdoku

• Mark every affected cell: After placing a cat, eliminate its row, column, and diagonal neighbors immediately.
• Search for forced regions: A colored region with one remaining safe cell gives you a definite placement.
• Use locked rows and columns: If every possible cell for one region shares a row or column, remove other candidates from that line.
• Avoid blind guesses: Recheck diagonal corners and existing X-marks before choosing between candidates.
