Getaway Shootout
Jump, rotate, grab weapons, and race across obstacle-filled maps in Getaway Shootout. Beat rivals to the getaway point in solo or local 2-player play.
About Getaway Shootout
Getaway Shootout is a chaotic 2D physics action game where you race across obstacle-filled maps and reach the getaway point before your rivals. Your character does not run normally: left and right jumps control movement, while rotation, momentum, and landing determine where you go next.
You can race against computer-controlled opponents or challenge a friend in local 2-player mode on the same keyboard. Winning matches earns coins that unlock more than 30 characters. Their variety is cosmetic, while the main challenge comes from learning how each jump affects your position.
How to Play Getaway Shootout
Start by choosing a route across platforms, gaps, narrow passages, and other hazards. Hold a jump direction briefly, then release to launch your character. Short, measured jumps work better on small platforms, while a poorly timed landing can send you backward or off the course.
Weapons and power-ups appear along the route. Shotguns, sniper rifles, bombs, rocket launchers, and other pickups can knock a rival out of position or slow their progress. Fighting can open a path, but spending too long attacking costs ground, so use a weapon when it directly helps you reach the finish.
Time Trial removes the opponents so you can practice routes, learn useful landing spots, and improve your completion time. In regular races, keep moving when the path is clear and watch the next landing before committing to another jump.
Tips for Getaway Shootout
- Use short jumps on small platforms so you have more control over your landing.
- Watch your momentum and rotation before jumping across a gap.
- Attack when a weapon can knock a rival off course; unnecessary fights can cost you the lead.
- Learn the map’s gaps, hazards, shortcuts, and stable landing spots.
