Catdoku
Place cats in colorful grids using row, column, region, and no-touching rules. Mark impossible cells with Xs and solve each puzzle through deduction.
Catdoku is a cat-themed logic puzzle that replaces numbers with colorful regions, visual clues, and aloof cats. Your goal is to place every cat in a valid cell while leaving the rest of the grid empty.
How to Play Catdoku
Each completed board follows four rules: place one cat in every row, one in every column, and one in every colored region. Cats also cannot touch horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. On a 6x6 board, that means placing six cats in six different rows, columns, and color regions.
Use X marks to record cells where a cat cannot go. A row, column, colored region, or neighboring cat can rule out a space. When you place a cat, scan the affected rows, columns, regions, and surrounding cells again because the new restrictions may reveal another forced position.
Begin with the most restricted regions and smaller groups of open cells. Mark rejected spaces as soon as you identify them, then compare the remaining possibilities across the whole grid instead of guessing. An incorrect cat placement can cost a fish, so random moves are risky. Hints are available when you need help.
Progression
Compact beginner boards introduce the rules before larger puzzles bring more winding regions and harder relationships between rows, columns, and neighboring cells. More complex puzzles unlock as you solve the earlier boards, and daily challenges provide additional cat-themed puzzles.
