About Puppet Hockey

Puppet Hockey is a 1v1 ice hockey game where big-headed puppet players compete on a compact rink. Choose a national team, then control one player who must score at the opponent’s net and protect your own. There is no separate goalkeeper, so every change of possession sends you from attack to defense.

A standard match lasts 60 seconds. The player with more goals wins, while a tied score sends the match into 20 seconds of overtime. Winning moves you on to another opponent in the international tournament run.

How to Play Puppet Hockey

Move toward the puck, line up a shot, and swing your stick to send it toward the opposing net. Jump for airborne pucks or to interrupt a shot before it reaches your goal. The compact rink produces quick rebounds, so a missed shot can turn into a defensive emergency within seconds.

When you lose possession, retreat toward your own net and place your puppet between the puck and the goal. Keep moving across the ice instead of standing still, but save your jumps for high pucks and important blocks. Near the opponent’s net, repeated hits can help finish a rebound; creating a little space before shooting can also give you a cleaner angle.

Tips for Puppet Hockey

  • Guard the goal first: Stay between the puck and your net when the opponent has an opening.
  • Use jump shots carefully: Close-range jumps can surprise the goalie, but jumping constantly makes it harder to defend.
  • Watch the rebounds: Be ready to strike again when the puck bounces back into play.
  • Switch roles quickly: Push forward after a clear opening, then drop back as soon as possession changes.

Game Controls
