Hexanaut.io turns the classic territory-capture formula into a 3D multiplayer battle. You start with a small hexagonal base, steer outside it to draw a loop, and claim the tiles inside that loop with your color.
How to Play Hexanaut.io
Expand your territory while watching the map for nearby opponents. Staying close to your base is safer, but longer trips can capture more tiles and lead you toward the 20% map share needed to become King. Hold that lead for 3 minutes, or knock out every opponent, to win.
Your exposed trail is the main danger. If another player cuts it while you’re outside your territory, you’re eliminated. You can attack in the same way: slice an opponent’s trail while they are away from their base to knock them out. Your own trail can also cause an immediate elimination if you cut it yourself.
Totems appear across the map and provide passive bonuses when you capture them by moving your trail over their location. The map includes spreading, speed, teleporting, and slowing totems, among others. In PRO Free For All, airdrops add one-use items, and you can activate a PRO item with a click or the Space key.
Free For All is a solo mode where totems are the main special feature. Duo lets you share territory and bonuses with a partner. Weekly mode changes its rules each week. As you play, you can climb from Copper to Elite, compete on the leaderboard, and use a free account to save progress, track stats, and unlock cosmetic skins.
Tips for Hexanaut.io
- Watch the small map. Use it to track opponents before you leave the safety of your territory.
- Choose your loop length carefully. A longer route can claim more land, but it leaves your trail exposed for longer.
- Stay near home when threatened. Shorter loops reduce the distance an opponent has to reach your trail.
- Target exposed rivals. Cutting a player’s trail outside their base eliminates them immediately.
- Capture useful totems. Their bonuses can change how quickly you spread, move, teleport, or slow nearby opponents.
